Please have the stranger danger talk with your children and remind them of all of their safety rules and behaviors that they should be following. We have contacted APS Police in assisting in increased patrols of our school.

Incident:
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Kamila Greutman said a stranger tried to lure her son into a car but she scared him off. The same man returned the next day.
"I can't sleep at night," said Greutman.
The concerned mother said her kids were walking home last Tuesday, near Oakland and Barstow Avenue in Northeast Albuquerque.
According to Greutman, the man was in an older model black Audi and followed her son and daughter up the street.
She said she came outside and the car had stopped and the back door was open, the man was trying to lure her kids inside.
"I started walking out the door and this person just took off," said Greutman.
She said the next day, she saw the same car parked at a school bus stop.
Greutman said she want families in Albuquerque to be on high alert.
"Be aware. He's probably in a different car in a different neighborhood," said Greutman.
Action 7 News called Albuquerque Police Department and officers said they are aware of the suspicious car and driver. They said they will be patrolling the area in hopes of catching up with the suspect.
The car is described as an older model black four-door Audi. The suspect is a white male, heavy set, between 50-60 years old, with grey hair and balding in the front.

APS Hosts Public Forums to Get Input on 2010-11 Budget
Albuquerque Public Schools will seek public input on the proposed 2010-2011 budget during a series of six public forums. The budget forums are scheduled for:
Thursday, March 4, at 6:30 p.m. at Taylor Middle School, 9200 Guadalupe NW;
Tuesday, March 9, at 7 p.m. at La Cueva High, 7801 Wilshire NE;
Wednesday, March 10, at 6:30 p.m. at Mountain View Elementary School, 5317 Second St. SW;
Thursday, March 11, at 6 p.m. at Van Buren Middle School, 700 Louisiana Blvd. SE;
Tuesday, March 23, at 7 p.m. at Cibola High, 1410 Ellison Dr. NW; and
Wednesday, March 24, at 6 p.m. at Petroglyph Elementary, 5100 Mama Lynn Ave. NW.

Returning Students
Registration Packets for current North Star Students, who will be returning next year, will be sent home on Friday, March 5, 2010. Please update any information as needed, sign, and, return packet by Friday, March 12, 2010.

2010-2011 Kindergarteners & New Student Registration Info
New Student and Kindergarten Registration will start on Tuesday, February 23, 2010, from 7:00AM to 2:00PM. Registration is ongoing after this date between 7:00AM and 2:30PM in the NSES office. All students new to APS, and kindergarteners, will need to bring proof of residency, current shot records and a birth certificate.
